Introduction

In the article Troubleshooting Email Deliverability Issues, we explore some common technical issues that may cause email deliverability issues. However there additional steps you can take when setting up your email to help improve your email deliverability results.

This article provides best practices you can do to ensure optimal email delivery.

Ensure your Send From email is valid

Before you send out any email campaigns, it's crucial to ensure that the "Send From" email address is valid. The system will not send emails if this field is left blank or if the email address provided is not functional. By default, your Send From Email address is established by the email address associated with your account, however you can manually change the Send From address from the Settings tab within the Email Set up page.

Note: To change the email address associated with your account, send an email to support@structuredweb.com.

Maintain a high quality email list

To maximize the effectiveness of your email campaigns, it's essential to maintain a high-quality email list. This means ensuring that you have valid and engaged recipients on your mailing list. Here are some tips:

  • Targeted Contacts: Add contacts who are likely to be receptive to your email campaigns. Sending emails to an engaged audience increases the chances of positive responses.
  • Beware of Cold Lists: While you can use cold lists, be cautious. Sending emails to outdated or invalid email addresses and spam traps can harm your sender reputation.

Avoid Writing in All Caps and Use Proper Grammar

When crafting your email content, avoid using excessive capitalization and ensure that you use proper grammar and spelling. Messages written in all capital letters and poorly constructed content can trigger spam filters. To maintain professionalism and avoid spam classification, adhere to standard writing conventions.

Use Images Wisely

Avoid overloading your emails with large images. While visuals can enhance your message, excessive image usage can slow down email load times and even trigger spam filters. Strike a balance between text and images to ensure that your emails are both visually appealing and deliverable.

Send Test Emails

Testing your email campaigns is a crucial step in ensuring their successful delivery. However, be aware that test messages may sometimes end up in your spam filter, especially if the subject line reads "Test Message." To avoid this, consider the following:

  • Subject Line: Use a subject line that accurately represents the content of your test email.
  • Email Client Settings: Depending on your email client's settings, test emails may be flagged as spam. Adjust your settings accordingly.
