Introduction

In an era where privacy and security are paramount, it's essential to explore additional steps to guarantee the successful delivery of your email campaigns and test messages. If you or your customers are not receiving emails from StructuredWeb, you may need to complete additional steps.

In this article, we will guide you through the necessary precautions to ensure your marketing emails reach their intended recipients securely.

Add a Sender Policy Framework (SPF) TXT record

SPF records help recipients verify that the sender's email server is authorized to send emails on behalf of a particular domain. Without an SPF record, your emails may be more likely to end up in spam folders or be rejected by recipient servers.

To prevent this, we recommend creating a specific SPF TXT record for your domain when using their email marketing service. This record helps validate that emails sent on behalf of your domain by StructuredWeb's servers are authorized, which can improve email deliverability and security.

To add StructuredWeb to your SPF TXT record, add the following code to the TXT record's "Value" or "Text" field:

  • v=spf1 include:campaigns.structuredweb.com all

Whitelist mail servers & IP address (this is optional)

Note: This step applies to organizations that enable their own protection systems that require whitelisting specific IP addresses in order to receive incoming messages. If this applies to you, reach out to StructuredWeb Support to identify the IP address that should be whitelisted.

Whitelisting simply means you are adding servers & IP adresses as trusted senders, ensuring your emails remain on the top of customer inboxes and out of the spam folder.

Consult your company's IT team or email client administrators for assistance with this change. If you lack these resources, consider reaching out to your domain registrar for support.

Contact customer support to enable DMARC

Note: If your email campaigns are still not being delivered, verify whether the email domain you are sending from is protected by DMARC policy. To determine whether your domain is protected, follow the steps listed below.

DMARC is a security setting that prevents third-party services like StructuredWeb from sending emails on your behalf without authorization. To check whether your email domain has DMARC enabled, complete the following steps:

  1. Open DMARC Record Checker in any browser.
  2. In the Inspect The Domain text field, enter your email domain. (ex. Structuredweb.com
  3. Click Inspect the Domain.

If your email domain is protected by DMARC, you'll receive a message alerting you that your DMARC record if valid. Review details in the green box. Note the following conditions:

  • When the DMARC policy is set to p=reject, it indicates that emails will not be delivered to inboxes that do not meet DMARC security requirements.
  • When the DMARC policy is to p=none, it means that emails will be delivered, but with reduced confidence in their authenticity.

In this example the DMARC policy is set to p=reject.

If the email domain you are using to send email campaigns from the StructuredWeb platform has DMARC enabled, please reach out to StructuredWeb Support. Our team can provide instructions to update your domain information (DNS records) in order to enable DMARC with StructuredWeb as the sender.
